p&o Cruise Pt.2

Sunday, July 20, 2014

My next installment of our cruise trip begins in Day 2 still out at sea.
I don't have many photos of what we did on board. However, it was generally a very chill day.
We:

     1) Ate buffet breakfast
     2) Swam in pool / sunbathe
     3) Ate lunch buffet
     4) More sunbathing, swimming, spa-ing.

Everyone on the ship was extremely friendly! It's really hard to be moody while on the cruise when you don't have to worry about a thing.
We came back from an afternoon swim to this cute towel animal. Everyday they would leave a different towel animal in our room. I believe we also got a monkey.

Selfies before getting ready for formal night and a birthday dinner for this girl.

Every Titanic reference while on this cruise equaled a punishment drink. Naturally Sam, Emily and Chrissie were not so good at avoiding Titanic references.

That wind. Our ocean view photos did not turn out as nicely as we had hoped it would.

They gave us balloons! I'm guessing they didn't have any Happy Birthday ones. Congratulations on gaining a year on your age Emily!

Cutting her cake!
The dinner was surprisingly good. There was an ever changing menu with a fixed menu as well. However, I previously wrote about our battle with sea sickness. It was made worse by sitting at this restaurant. We were  REALLY feeling that motion sickness. Some of us could hardly swallow our food despite it tasting really nice.

Here is an unflattering photo of one of the salmon entrees

Random selfies while waiting for our table because we forgot to book.

Day 3

On our third day we stopped at our first port, Noumea. We were awake well before we were able to go on land so we did a bit of touristy photo taking.

Legs or sausages. My sausages look a little off.

Good morning Noumea!

We got off the cruise ship in the late morning and got our passports stamped with a New Caledonia stamp. Our main goal was to head to a beach for some swimming. The beach was unexpectedly far away from the cruise ship although it looked like a short walk on the map. It was quite humid so it didn't make the long walk easier. In fact we even got lost on the way and had to ask a lady who only spoke broken English for directions. She was very helpful though and before long we were on our way.

Stray dogs lying around in the shade to keep cool. So adorable.

Had a mini photo session on this long ass bench. This is everybody from our group! Chrissie, Eunice, Eileen, Sam, Michelle, Mario, Me and Emily.

And after what felt like forever, we have arrived at the beach.
It was disappointing. We were expecting clear waters and smooth sand. Instead, the sand was rough and riddled with pebbles and the water seemed a little bit murky but still swimmable. It didn't stop us from having an amazing time swimming around with our snorkle gear and testing out the under water capabilities of Mario's go pro.
I'm all glam.  This pretty much sums up the eventful things of Day 3. Well, at least from what I can remember of 5 months ago. Part 3 will be up soon!
